Our cold process soap is made from scratch with nourishing fats, oils, butters, and natural additives—no synthetic detergents, parabens, etc.

Yes, all real soap requires lye (sodium hydroxide) to saponify oils, but there is no lye left in the finished product—it’s all transformed into gentle, skin-loving soap and natural glycerin.

Many of our bars are formulated with simple, gentle ingredients and are free from synthetic fragrances and dyes. Look for our unscented or mild cleansing options if you have extra-sensitive skin. All our soap descriptions include a "soap profile" that includes this information.

Cold process soap is made by mixing oils and lye without external heat, preserving the beneficial qualities of the ingredients. After pouring, it cures for 4–6 weeks to harden while reducing the moisture content. Once the soap has stopped losing moisture weight, it is ready to use.

With proper care—keeping it dry between uses—your bar can last 4 to 6 weeks, depending on use and storage.

Keep it dry between uses using a draining soap dish. For longer-term storage, keep bars in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

Many of our soaps that lean towards "artisan" are made from natural colorants and essential oils. But we also have many fun "signature" soaps that have scents you can't find with essential oils and bold colorants that may sparkle. When we do use Fragrance oils, we find ones that free from phthalates, musks, and other cancer-causing agents. Many of our fragrance oils are combined with essential oils as well.

Some of our soaps are vegan, using only plant-based butters and oils. Others contain animal fats like tallow or lard for a creamy lather and hard bar. Vegan options are clearly labeled.

Tallow and lard create a long-lasting bar with a luxurious, creamy lather. These traditional fats are also incredibly gentle on skin and align with our mission to reduce waste by using every part of the animal.

We are committed to sustainability. If palm oil is used, it is always responsibly sourced—or we simply leave it out.

Absolutely. We never test on animals, and we work with suppliers who uphold ethical standards.

We use only natural colorants—like clays, botanicals, and plant-based powders. No artificial dyes or micas.

Yes, many customers use our gentler bars as facial cleansers. Try unscented or lightly scented options if you’re concerned about sensitivity. Please also try our Facial Bars, specifically using face-loving, non-comedogenic butters & oils.

While we can’t make medical claims, many customers find certain ingredients beneficial. Check the product description for notes on which bars might be a good match for your needs.

Yes! Our unscented and lightly scented bars with gentle oils are suitable for kids. Always do a patch test first.

Each bar is handmade and hand-cut, so small variations in color, pattern, or size are part of the charm!

Our soap packaging is simple with just a vellum label. We also sometimes package our soaps in reusable cotton muslin bags. For other products, we use reusable aluminum tins or glass jars. We also use containers from recycled or recyclable plastic. 

Soap doesn’t really expire, but they get better and last longer with age. However, natural scents and colorants don't last. To enjoy the bar in its full glory, use within a year of purchase.
