Soap Lover's Gift Crate

Let's be honest — three soaps is a perfectly reasonable gift. But if you know your recipient, you already know three isn't going to cut it.

The Soap Lover's Gift Crate steps it up with four handcrafted bars and one soap saver accessory, all packed into a small rustic wood slat crate and optionally finished with up to three ribbons, raffia, and waxed cords tied through the handles in a bow. It's for the person who uses a different bar in the morning than they do at night. The person who has a soap dish on every sink. The person who, if we're being honest, is probably you.

The Crate

A small wood slat crate — 5.5 inches long, 3.15 inches wide, and 2.36 inches tall — with the kind of simple, rustic character that makes it feel like something you'd find at a farmstead market rather than a big box store. It's not the packaging you throw away. It holds things. Good things. Probably more soap.

The Soaps

Choose any four bars from the The Good Soap Works Co. lineup — mix scents, mix formulas, mix whatever you like. Out-of-stock bars are marked clearly so there are no surprises at checkout. Four bars. Your call entirely.

The Accessory

Choose one soap saver accessory — a wood soap dish (flat or curved), a bamboo soap ladder, a sisal soap saver bag, or a soap saver pad. Because a great bar deserves a proper place to rest between uses. And because soap that stays dry lasts longer. That's just math.

The Finishing Touch

Optionally choose up to three finishing options from our ribbon, raffia, and waxed cord selection — and don't feel like you have to stick to just one type. A cotton ribbon alongside a strand of raffia and a waxed cord looks beautiful together, and that's exactly the kind of combination we love putting together. They'll all be tied through the handles and over the soaps, secured in a bow. It'll look like you put in real effort. You basically just clicked a few boxes. That's our secret.

One Flat Price. No Surprises.

Forty-five dollars, regardless of which soaps fill the crate. Mix the chakra collection with the tallow basics, go all-in on one scent family, or let someone else choose — the price doesn't change. What's inside does, and that's the whole point.

Sending This as a Gift?

These crates ship beautifully as a direct gift. Use your recipient's address as the shipping address at checkout and we'll take care of the rest. Check the gift option above so we know to keep it looking its best. No receipts included — just soap, a crate, and a very good bow.

Purely Crafted Handmade Soap

• Remove Botanicals: Some bars are adorned with dried botanicals for a natural finishing touch. Simply remove them before use to ensure a smooth, comfortable lather.

• Create a Rich Lather: Wet your hands, washcloth, or bath sponge and gently work the bar between your palms to build a creamy lather.

• Cleanse the Skin: Apply the lather to damp skin using gentle circular motions, allowing the soap to cleanse while you enjoy the natural aroma of essential oils.

• Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse with warm water until the skin feels clean and refreshed.

• Let Your Soap Dry Between Uses: To help extend the life of your bar, place it on a well-draining soap dish so it can dry fully between uses. If you don't have a soap dish, we have several options here.

• Explore Benefits: Due to labeling guidelines, we can’t make specific claims about the nourishing properties of our ingredients. However, we encourage you to explore the benefits of each ingredient and discover what works best for your skin!

• Naked & Natural: No parabens, no sulfates, no phthalates, no silicone, no SLS, no dyes, no artificial nonsense—just pure, skin-loving goodness.

• Beautifully Delicate: Natural colorants and essential oils are beautifully delicate—unlike synthetic dyes and fragrances, they tend to fade over time. That gentle fading is your proof it’s truly natural!

• Variations: Natural variations of color, design and shape occur with all handmade products.

• Longevity: For the richest color and scent experience, use your soap within a year. However, the longer the bar cures, the better the bar performs. A 10-year old bar might have lost its scent & color, but it will be the best soap you've ever used!

• Sensitivities: While our soaps are crafted with care and the best ingredients, some people are still sensitive to some natural ingredients. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Orders typically ship within 1–3 business days after your order is placed.

Shipping costs range from $5–$9, and US orders over $75 ship FREE. We ship via USPS (Priority & Flat Rate) and UPS Ground, depending on what works best for your order.

Delivery times vary based on the carrier and your location. All orders ship from Utah, USA.

Returns

Ordering online can feel a little uncertain — you can’t smell it, touch it, or try it first. We get that, and we want to take the worry out of it.

That’s why we offer a 60-day, no-hassle return policy. If something doesn’t feel right, simply reach out to us, tell us what’s going on, and we’ll help make it right. We want you to order with confidence, knowing you’re supported every step of the way.

Smooth as silk

This lip balm isn't dry like others I've tried, it actually glides on like silk and keeps my lips moist without being greasy. Another five star product from HiVibes Collective, thanks!

Soap FAQs

Soap that is properly cured (6 weeks or longer) and are kept out of standing water, will last just as long, if not longer, than commercial soap. Soap that not allowed to dry between uses will tend to get mushy or soft and will not last as long. Soap savers or soap dishes will help extend the life of your soap by keeping it out of standing water. If you don't have one, check out these: https://hivibescollective.com/product-details/product/soap-savers/

We use both natural colorants and skin-safe micas. We also use essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils. We used to be a "natural" only company. However, after much research, and from the preferences of my customers, I use the type of colorant and fragrance based on the goal of that soap. I do, however, only use micas that are skin-safe (the kind used in make-up) and fragrance oils that do not have cancer-causing ingredients.

Because many of our soaps are made with only natural ingredients, some fading of scent or color is completely normal. Essential oils are delicate and can evaporate as the soap cures or is stored, especially lighter scents like citrus. Likewise, natural colorants such as clays, herbs, and plant powders may soften in shade over time since they aren’t stabilized with synthetic dyes.

This gentle change doesn’t affect the quality or effectiveness of the soap—it’s simply part of the charm of using a truly natural product. To keep your bars at their best, we recommend storing them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

As with all "real" soap, lye (sodium hydroxide) is used to change the butters and oils into "soap". Without lye, all you would have is a bar of butters and oils. However, once the saponification process is complete (within the first 48 hours), no lye remains in the soap. What is left is only soap and glycerin.

Note: Some commercial soaps are made of synthetic detergents and use no lye. Dove bars are one example. Synthetic detergents are not bad, they just use man-made cleansers rather than the old-fashioned style of soap-making. (We use synthetic detergents in our shampoo bars because they are much gentler and more pH balanced for your hair.)

If you have sensitive skin, it's best to always test first. You will find that less ingredients may be better for sensitive skin rather than adding extras that may aggravate it. Look for our single-oil/butter soaps that are unscented, such as our Pure Tallow Soap or our Pure Lard Soap. Both of these are very mild and gentle on the skin without stripping any extra oils.

As an artist of handmade products, I can attest that we are not machines. We can't always do things exactly the same time, every time. This includes everything from the ingredient amounts to how many poppy seeds we drop on top. You will know its handmade when every bar you see has its own personality, it's own look.

Whereas, commercial soaps are made by machines and are produced exactly the same way every time. There is definitely consistency, but no artistry in commercial products.

As someone who thanks God for the wonderful products that come from animals, I tend to create soaps that use animal fats. However, I also realize people don't think the same way as I do or who have allergic reactions to animal fats. Once we started creating our soap making courses, I wanted to offer more variety to those who prefer plant-based soaps and skincare. Now we offer many vegan soaps and skincare items. If you don't see what you want or need in a vegan product, let us know!

In addition, being a small handcrafting business, our products are not tested on animals. We also try to find ingredient brands who share these same values.

Most of my soap recipes do not use Palm oil. However, you might see one or two soaps that do include it. When we do use Palm Oil, we buy sustainable palm oil that is certified RSPO. Palm oil is a well-known oil in soap because it creates a wonderfully rich lather that cleanses well and makes a hard bar of soap. We like to test different recipes and will not hesitate to offer a great bar of soap that includes RSPO palm oil. If a soap includes Palm oil, we will include it in the Soap Profile section as well as in the list of ingredients.

RSPO palm oil is palm oil that meets the rigorous sustainability standards set by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a global non-profit organization. You can read more about the RSPO here: https://rspo.org/why-sustainable-palm-oil/

As a handcrafter, we try to use a more sustainable way of packaging our product. We do use plastic shrink wrap on some products, but our soap packaging is plastic-free.

Currently, we ship our soap with just the vellum label.

We have used muslin bags to package our soap in the past and you may receive your soap in a bag as well as with a vellum label. The bag is cotton and you can even leave the soap in the muslin bag for a more exfoliating experience and to add more lather. In addition, you can reuse the muslin bag for your soap scraps so even the little bits of soap from other bars won't go to waste.

Sometimes trying new products, especially natural products that may work differently from commercial products, your body might start to detox and make change to your skin, hair, etc. Sometimes the change may be a negative one at first while your body adjusts to the new product. If this happens, don't immediately set aside the product. Your body may take a few days to a few weeks of use to work itself out and come to a balance.

However, if you are having an allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately and seek medical help, if needed. (Even natural ingredients have allergens that people can react with. Patch test first if you are worried about sensitives.)

If our product(s) just don't work for you after consistently using them for several weeks, or if you have an allergic reaction to one of our products, please contact us so we can discuss a refund or replacement of the item(s).

Yes! Law requires us to include the INCI name for our products that are considered cosmetics which is anything other than soap. Soap is not considered a cosmetic, so we don't include usually the INCI ingredient list. Whether we are required to include the INCI list or not, we always include the common name list so the ingredients are easily recognizable.

We want you to know how each ingredient affects the final product, if just out of curiosity or allergy-related. We've compiled lists of each ingredient and what they bring to the table. Check them out here: Butters & Oils, Additives (special oils, etc.)Scents (essential oils & fragrance oils), and colorants (powders & clays). You will also find these links in our footer at the bottom of each page as well as in the drop-down menu. If you don't see a particular ingredient listed, let us know, and we will add it. You can also google the standard name or INCI name for a good snapshot of the ingredient and its uses.

Tallow isn't like regular lotion; only a small amount is needed for each application. A small 2 oz container will last one person quite a while. However, it does depend on if you are only using it on your face as opposed to your entire body.

Yes, we use only essential oils to scent and clays to color, both of which are good for the skin. We also offer Unscented to those who may have skin sensitivities, for children, or those who prefer unscented skincare.

Fading of scent or color is completely normal. Essential oils are delicate and can evaporate as the whipped tallow sits, especially lighter scents like citrus. Likewise, natural colorants such as clays, herbs and plant powders may soften in shade over time since they aren’t stabilized with synthetic dyes.

This gentle change doesn’t affect the quality or effectiveness of the whipped tallow—it’s simply part of the charm of using a truly natural product. To keep your whipped tallow at its best, we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Well, it could smell like nothing, but it could have a faint beefy smell or my favorite, a buttery smell. It all depends on how the tallow was rendered, but also what breed of cow it came from and whether it was grass- or grain-finished. (Some say that grass-finished tallow has a beefier smell than grain-finished tallow and therefore, the "better" tallow is the "smellier" one). But in the end, the quality of the tallow is not necessarily reflected by the smell or lack, thereof.

Currently, we render local tallow ourselves for our whipped tallow and other skincare products, but find that our tallow is not necessarily milder smelling than tallow we've sourced from suppliers for our soaps. Some suppliers deodorize their tallow, which is another process that also removes many of the vitamins and minerals that are present in tallow, so we try to stay away from them, even for soap making.

If you have an aversion to the beef smell, we encourage you to stick with our scented whipped tallows which cover any scent that may exist. Our vanilla-infused tallow is our personal favorite and has a wonderful aroma that will not fade over time.

If you have sensitive skin, it's best to always test first. You will find that less ingredients may be better for sensitive skin rather than adding extras that may aggravate it. Look for our unscented versions of whipped tallow, which are also not colored with any clays. We also recommend the unscented varieties when using the product on children.

As an artist of handmade products, I can attest that we are not machines. We can't always do things exactly the same time, every time. This includes everything from the ingredient amounts to how much fits in the jar. You will know its handmade when every bar you see has its own personality, it's own look.

Whereas, commercial tallow products are made by machines and are produced exactly the same way every time. There is definitely consistency, but no artistry in commercial products.

As a handcrafter, we try to use a more sustainable way of packaging our product. Glass is not porous and will not leach chemicals into our tallow balms like a plastic jar would. Sometimes we use plastic containers for samples or if someone places a custom order and wants to save a few bucks. We do, however, use plastic shrink wrap to seal the lids on the jars for protection and there is a plastic insert inside the metal lid. In the future, we may switch our jars to sustainable, recyclable plastic jars if glass is breaking during shipment or if shipping heavier glass gets cost prohibitive for our customers.

No, tallow is beef fat. But, just like all our other products, our whipped tallows are not tested on animals.

For Regular Whipped Tallow

Whipped Tallow products have a low melting point. If your product is heated over 80°F your tallow may lose its whipped consistency and become more of a solid balm or have a grainy texture. It does not affect the product in any way; only the consistency.

If this happens and you would like to bring it back to its original whipped consistency, follow these easy instructions:

1. Empty your tallow into a heat safe container.

2. Melt tallow in a double boiler until in a liquid state.

3. Place in freezer for a few minutes (just enough to cool and become a solid, but not so hard that it can't be whipped.

4. Using your hand mixer, blend your tallow until it incorporates enough air to reach the consistency you prefer.

5. Place back into original container.

6. Store in a cool, dry place or even the refrigerator if your climate is consistently warm.

For Magnesium Whipped Tallow

Because there is a preservative in this formula, by heating up the tallow the preservative will be neutralized. You could do this, but you will need to keep it refrigerated and use it up within a short period of time. My recommendation is to leave the consistency as is to leave the preservative intact.
